#1: Notice boards now in use |
|
In the last fiscal year, MANRECAP set up notice
boards in all the focal villages to ensure a fair
access to the information and news from the Project
and CBOs.
For example, during the impact assessment conducted
by the Project in February 2006, some people in
Santhipuram, where about 260 families live,
complained that only a limited number of people have
an access to the information from the Project. The
Project took the result seriously, discuss with
people in Santhipuram how to improve the situation
and decided to set up 4 notice boards there. Now
those notice boards are in use not only for the
information from the Project but also for various
kinds of new and information from villagers and
other organizations. |

#2: District Rural
Development Officer visited our focal villages |
|
|
District Rural Development Officer, who takes
overall responsibilities for CBOs’ activities at the
district level, visited 3 villages in the uncleared
area with the Project staff on 11 May.
She had discussions with the leaders of CBOs in Sewa
Village, Ganeshapuram and Pali Aru and explained the
newly revised Constitution of Rural Development
Society (RDS) and Woman Rural Development Society (WRDS)
and how CBOs should adopt it.
Her visit at the uncleared area encouraged CBO
leaders as well as the Project staff working there
because only a limited contact with the officers is
available under the prevailing security situation. |
